Found in the heart of Riceville, TN, Walnut Ridge Farm is a family-owned establishment dedicated to excellence in poultry farming. At Walnut Ridge Farm, we take pride in raising a variety of exceptional chicken breeds. Our Ermine Ameracaunas are absolutely stunning birds to look at while sitting outside enjoying some homemade iced-tea. The black copper marans are celebrated for their rich, dark brown eggs and striking plumage. The Barnevelder’s colors in the sunshine are exqusite while providing lots of eggs. The Silver laced Wyandottes are so beautiful and easy on the eyes as well. Our Chocolate Orpingtons and Polish “Top Hats” are being raised up and we hope to offer those in 2027. Lastly, our blue laced red wyandottes captivate with their stunning feather patterns and are valued for their dual-purpose qualities. Each breed is selected for its unique characteristics, contributing to the diverse offerings at Walnut Ridge Farm.

Ermine Ameracauna
Ermines are a rare, developing project color variety known for their striking white plumage with scattered black markings and commonly, dark, beetle-green black tail feathers.
Black Copper Marans
Famous for their deep chocolate-colored eggs and striking appearance.
Crested Cream Legbars
Unique with their crests and producers of beautiful blue eggs.
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Admired for their stunning feather patterns and dual-purpose qualities.
Barnevelder
This Dutch breed has been around for almost 200 years. The hens are stunning and are prolific layers and sought after by many chicken keepers.
Silver Laced Wyandotte
The Wyandotte is an American breed of dual-purpose chicken, raised both for its brown eggs and for its yellow-skinned meat.
Chocolate Orpington
These are large, dual-purpose birds recognized for their rich chocolate-brown plumage and calm, docile temperament. They are ideal for backyard flocks, laying approximately 200–250 medium-sized brown eggs per year while being cold-hardy.
Polish "Top Hat" Chickens
This breed sports a distinctive crest of feathers referred to as “pom-pom” or “top hat.” As they mature, these crests can sometimes obscure the vision of these chickens. And not only do they look fun–they’re know for their docile nature.
